Introducing the PS-31 Binocular Night Vision Device (BNVD), a compact and lightweight dual-tube goggle designed to replace the legacy PS-15. Among dual-tube night vision goggles, the PS-31 stands out as one of the smallest and lightest units available. Engineered with high-performance Gen 3 image intensifier tubes made in the USA, the PS-31 enhances system resolution and reduces head-borne weight while improving the center of gravity for operators. It incorporates direct feedback from U.S. Operators to maximize operational utility and situational awareness, featuring a 50 degree field of view for maximum visibility in the field. The PS-31 BNVD's auto-gain capable tubes adjust brightness dynamically to suit changing ground conditions. Its independently pivoting tube housings enable seamless transitions between binocular and monocular configurations. Utilizing both tubes enhances depth perception, aiding in terrain navigation and operational tasks, while the monocular setup facilitates swift adaptation to varying light conditions typical in battlefield scenarios, accommodating shifts between night vision and weapon-mounted optics. Furthermore, the pivoting tube housings allow the goggles to lie flat against the helmet surface when stowed, reducing profile and enhancing operator safety and equipment durability.
