The PS-31 Binocular Night Vision Device (BNVD) is a state-of-the-art, compact and lightweight dual-tube goggle designed to replace the legacy PS-15. Among dual-tube night vision goggles, the PS-31 stands out as one of the smallest and lightest units available. It can be equipped with high-performance US-made Gen 3 image intensifier tubes. Developed with input from U.S. Operators, the PS-31 offers enhanced system resolution, significantly reduced headborne weight, improved center of gravity and increased operational utility. With a 50 degree FOV, it maximizes visibility in the field. The PS-31's auto-gain capability adjusts brightness based on ground conditions, while its independently pivoting tube housings allow for both binocular and monocular configurations. Using two tubes enhances depth perception, making it easier to navigate terrain and operate devices. Monocular mode facilitates seamless transitions between varying lighting conditions. Additionally, the pivoting tubes can be flattened against the helmet for a low-profile stow, enhancing operator safety and equipment longevity.
