This system features a bright light cut-off to protect the photocathode tube, manual gain control for precise image brightness adjustments, and independent pod movement that enables single or dual eye configurations for flexible operation. Each tube automatically turns off when flipped up, preserving tube life, while the 1x magnification and a 40-degree field of view offer a clear, hands-free observing experience with responsive focus from 0.25 meters to infinity. Power is supplied by a single AA alkaline battery for up to 15 hours, and with the included external battery pack, operating time can extend to 50 hours, supported by an integral infrared illuminator for reading in total darkness. The UNVG can be mounted on standard dovetail headset or helmet mounts for rapid deployment, and the UNVG-51 variant provides a wider 51-degree field of view for an expansive visual field.
